The Shipping Methods (Ship Via) screen allows you specify the methods of shipment you make to customers and receive from vendors.
Shipping Methods
- First set up as a value list all the Shipping Methods for use
- From the shipping methods screen you can maintain existing shipping methods and enter new shipping methods
- Go to Settings > Value Lists > Value Lists (M-Z) > Shipping Methods to see a list of existing shipping methods, edit shipping methods, or create new shipping methods
Shipping Method Fields
| Field | Description |
| Active check box | To view an inactive account, see Active and Inactive Records. |
| Ship Via Code | One- to three digit alphanumeric code that identifies the shipping method. An entry in this field is required. Note that once assigned you cannot edit the ship via code itself, you can only edit the description. |
| Description | Description identifying the shipping method. An entry in this field is required. Maximum entry is 30 characters. |
| UPS Zone | Select from a dropdown list the UPS Zone associated with the shipping method (Ground, 3-Day, etc.). |
| Tax by Warehouse | Select the Yes or No radio buttons to determine whether tax will be computed based on the tax jurisdiction of the shipping warehouse or not. |
| Tracking Type | Select from a dropdown list of available tracking types (web, phone, tracking number, email). |
| Tracking Link | Enter the tracking link available for this shipping method, if applicable. |
| Web Display | Select the Yes or No radio buttons to indicate whether this shipping method will be available through the eCommerce modules. |
| Freight | Each method of shipment can be assigned to a table of charges. During ship confirmation, this table can help determine freight charges to your customer. |
