Location Codes refer to specific locations where products are stored in a warehouse. A Location Code is made up of four separately searchable fields that can correspond to Aisle, Row, Shelf and Bin, any other numbering scheme or geographic coordinates.
Location Codes
- First decide how to map out the warehouses based on how you will access all the locations
- Once the mapping is complete, set up the value list of Location Codes to correspond to the mapping of the warehouses
- Then assign products to locations in the product record
- Inventory for products can be tracked by Location Code and warehouse
- You can specify multiple Locations per product and assign a hierarchy to these
- Products on pick tickets can be sorted by any field in the compound Location Code associated with the product
- Location codes will print on pick tickets and purchase order receiving documents.
- Location codes may be selected for physical inventory cycle counts
- Go to Settings > Value Lists > Product Only Lists > Location Codes to see a list of map codes, edit a map code, or create a new map code
