Use the Linked Document Types screens to set up types to identify linked documents.
Linked Document Types
- Once you have set up the Linked Documents Types, you can link these to various records
- You can link documents to a record from the Actions menu on customers, products, vendors, contacts, quotes, orders, invoices, and POs
- Types that are marked as MSDS and Web types will be available to customers from product detail pages in the Self-Service Portal and Online Stores ordering/list modules
- Go to Settings > Value Lists > Value Lists (A-L) to see a list, edit a linked document type, or create a new linked document type
Linked Document Type Fields

| Active check box | To view an inactive account, see Active and Inactive Records. |
| Linked Type Code | One- to three-digit code that identifies the linked document type. |
| Description | Description of the linked document type. |
| Document Type | Type defining the linking document: MSDS, Web, or none (no special designation). MSDS and Web type documents will be available online through the product details screen in the eCommerce modules. For example, to put supplemental product marketing material online, attach the material as a linked file with a document type that is designated as “Web”. Now the file will be available to web viewers through a link on the product screen. |
