The DOT Information screen lets you enter hazardous materials information as required by the US Department of Transportation (DOT). This information can be used on a bill of lading to provide the required shipping documents when transporting hazardous materials.
DOT Codes
- After a DOT record is created it can be added to a product record by entering the code in the DOT Code field on the Product Details screen
- A separate Bill of Lading must be generated for the shipping company or your driver for hazardous material items
- Accolent ERP has a standard Bill of Lading form that will comply with DOT requirements and it can be set to print when hazardous materials are on the order. The form will need modification to include your emergency response phone number
- Go to Settings > Value Lists > Product Only Lists > DOT Codes, to see or edit DOT product information
