Accolent ERP allows the use of multiple UOMs. One UOM must be selected as the Stocking UOM, and one as the Pricing UOM. All inventory quantities in the system are kept in the Stocking UOM. All prices and costs: List Price, Standard Cost, Alternate Cost and Special Cost are kept in the Pricing UOM. Similarly, the system automatically calculates Average Cost by the Pricing UOM. The system also allows selection of the Default Selling UOM and the Default PO UOM, which will be the default UOMs for order entry and PO entry respectively, but these may be changed in either order entry or PO entry by the user to any other allowed selling UOM or PO UOM. If the UOM is changed on any transaction, the price and cost will automatically change to reflect the selection.
Products with Multiple UOMs
- Open product RU10H which has multiple UOMs.
- Product RU10H has 3 UOMs: EA, BOX (=5 EA), CS (=4 BOX).
- The Stocking UOM is EA. The inventory will always be shown in this UOM.
- The Pricing UOM is CS. All Prices and Costs will be expressed in this UOM.
- The Default Selling UOM is BOX.
- The Default PO UOM is CS.
- The price for the Pricing UOM (CS) is $100.00; this is the List Price.
- The costs, which are all expressed in the Pricing UOM (CS), are Standard Cost $65.00 and Alternate Cost $60.00.
- Average Cost is calculated automatically by the system in the Pricing UOM (CS).
Receive PO to Purchase Product
- Now create PO No C11071 for Vendor 104.
- The PO uses the Default PO UOM of CS at an alternate cost of $60.00/CS, but any other allowed PO UOM can also be selected.
- Receive PO No C11071.
- The Ledger card shows the 2 CS received as 40 EA, since EA is the Stocking UOM.
- The Average Cost history shows a cost of $60.00/CS, since CS is the Pricing UOM.
Sell Product
- Create order 78294 to sell this product.
- The order uses the Default Selling UOM of BOX at a price of $25.00/BOX, but any valid selling UOM can be selected.
- Save the order, move to fulfillment then invoice.
- The invoice is shown as 2 BOX at $25.00/BOX, since BOX was the UOM selected on the order.
- The Ledger Card shows the sale transaction as 10 EA (since EA is the stocking UOM).
- The Average Cost history maintains the cost as $60.00/CS (since this is the pricing UOM).
