Accolent ERP supports four Costs for each product: Standard Cost, Alternate Cost, Special Cost and Average Cost. Average Cost is calculated internally by the system. For each of the other three Costs, Accolent ERP allows entry of a future cost together with the future date at which that future cost becomes operable. On a daily basis, the system checks the future dates entered and on the appropriate date updates future costs.
Accolent ERP Costs
- Accolent ERP tracks four costs for each product: Standard, Alternate, Special and Average Cost.
- Average Cost is calculated internally by the system and should not be changed by the user.
- The three remaining Costs are typically used as follows:
- Alternate Cost is the replacement cost of the product (i.e., Vendor’s price),
- Standard Cost is the Alternate Cost plus an overhead markup that is typically used to make business decisions and for commission purposes, and
- Special Cost is usually a non-replicable, one-off cost for the product.
- Each of Standard, Alternate and Special Costs allow for the entry of future values and dates when these future costs are applicable.
